it's sad when a movie has so much potential then doesnt use it. babylon a.d., supposedly started as a high quality sci-fi film basically is a flop. vin diesels acting was NOT good in this movie whatsoever, which was quite sad, it had a lot of potential.

 

the effects were good and everything, but it's sad when a movie struggles to get its ideas across correctly and it ends up just making you think to much, none of the bits of this movie make sense, and none of it can be explain by "it's future technology" because it doesnt describe how any of this future technology works. this entire movie is built around ideas that make absolutely no sense, it's sad

 

however, i found the first 30 minutes the best part of the movie. it really did make you think about what the future may held

 

still, no ideas came across correctly, in the end, i know this is a short review, but i have to give this movie a 2 out of 10 stars.

It's been a LONG time since i've seen a movie i absolutely hated. i can honestly say, i absolutely hate the house bunny.

 

acting, it's all so over the top it's almost like a joke, the main character is a slut and nothing more, a completely stero typical slut, i give her props for playing a stupid character. but those props arent big because playing a stupid character is quite easy. there is absolutely no acting in the movie that stands out at all, the best actor probably in that whole thing was hugh hefner sadly.

 

the story line, predictable is all i can say. it has no variety and it's pretty obvious where it's going.

 

this movie is after all a comedy. it doenst do this well either though. this is one of those movies that if you see it with 5 friends and you are all either hyper or high, it won't be funny. it has some funny moments, and i chuckled a few times, and a few decently big laughs, but overall it's a medeocre comedy.

 

i misspelled mediocre.

 

anyway, i'm going to give this 3 out of 10 stars. best to not see it and see if you can find it in a garage sale 20 years from now

 

 

comic book movies either do two things. they fail, or they live up to the hype. here comes the dark knight, and this movie created a third dimension to this. it surpassed everything that has ever held a super hero movie back, it has not just lived up to the hype, it has surpassed it in full, this is, without a doubt, the best super hero movie ever created. period. it brought the characters to a whole different level. the best batman movie, best super hero movie, best comic book movie, and best movie of this year so far.

 

The Dark Knight is a dark masterpiece!

 

i have no complaints about this movie. every camera shot is handled with care, and the action is filmed perfectly.

 

speaking of action, lets talk about it. the effects and action in this movie is very realistic, so it is somewhat restricted. but it also has some sequences where it will make the fan boys of batman go crazy, and one part of the movie in particular will do what it did to everyone in the theater. when this particular thing happened, everybody in the theater said one word. "woah". it really is incredible.

 

the story line of this movie is to hard to explain within this blog. heck, it's to much to explain in 10 pages. here's the main dealio.

you have the dark knight himself, batman, who wants to be a symbol to everyone in gotham, he tries to be a symbol that can go beyond the law and do things the police can't do. he's trying to be the hero in the shadows.

then you have harvey dent, who is trying to uphold all the laws and still be a symbol himself, trying to make a perfect democracy, yet at the same time, his way of thinking is it's ok to have a batman as long as he is on the right side of the law.

then you have the joker...and he is trying to tear apart anything that will keep things held together. he is trying to rip economy to shreds using what batman uses against criminals. fear, and wits, along with a little catch. the catch for batman, a dark figure that watches you in the night. the catch for the joker, a man who is insane, but has the wit that can be compared to the most incredible minds in the world. you will see what i'm talking about when you see it.

 

and the acting for the joker is really the only acting anyone cares about in this movie, and it is done perfectly. the joker will scare you, the joker will make you laugh. the joker will make you sweat, and the joker will make sense to you. just as much as he will confuse you. he is played perfectly.

 

don't read this anymore. it's pointless, because bottom line, one of the best movies i have ever seen.

 

The Dark Knight gets a perfect 10 out of 10. you owe it to yourself, go see this movie.

oh.......my.......gah......this movie was soooooo good, i really don't know how i'm going to give this movie a score though. for those of you that don't know, wanted is based off of a comic book series. i'm going to give you the story line for the comic books, then the one for the movies. see how they compare.

 

comic book:

a man is pulled aside by a girl one day, he is told he is the last remaining link of a colony of super villains and he is to help the reminaing super villains hunt down the remaining super hero's and wipe them out. (no, i'm not kidding)

 

movie:

think the same, except now there assassins and they don't have super powers except for added amounts of adrenaline in there system, which allow them to slow down time. they put there trust in "weapons of fate"

 

now, i'll be honest, this is one of the best movies i have seen in a long time. it's at the same level as speed racer for me, which i thought was incredible. heres the thing. the acting in wanted is superb, the characters are played great, and surprisingly, angelina jolie plays her part well (not a big fan of her work, but she proved that she could act with this movie) and altogether, the acting is pulled together perfectly, it feels like all the characters were born to play there part. my personal favorite was morgan freeman, he played his part perfectly.

 

lets move onto one of he biggest parts of movies these days, the action...this movie does not dissapoint. movies now have to come out with stuff that nobody has ever seen before so that people will want to see the movie. believe me, you have not seen any of this before. throughout the movie, i never found myself once getting even remotely close to bored. and when you see one of the action scenes near the end of the movie, it's a run and gun scene, you will be in awe, it is incredible to watch. all the action is very far-fetched, but that doesnt make it any less incredible or entertaining. heres what i think of action in movies. as long as the physics are realistic and the crazyness makes sense, i'm cool. like, if a car gets shot once and all of a sudden it flys 50000 feet in the air, that ain't gonna cut it. if it gets hit in a gas tank and flys into some other cars, that makes slightly more sense. this movie's action was on point, it mixed perfect physics with the idea that things such as bullets can be curved and such. it really makes you think, if bullets could curve in real life and assassins were this deadly and good at what they do, this could all indeed happen. and the effects look absolutely incredible, from the detailed shots of a guy getting shot through the head with a bullet to a girl snapping her stapler (you'll get what i'm talking about when you see it) it really is phenominal.

 

the plot is creative and gives you just enough space to have to think things through without over doing it, it's seamless and perfect.

 

only one thing i don't like about the movie, it didnt stick to it's comic book roots. it sucks, because as much as i loved this movie, if it doesnt follow it's original source, at least to a certain point, i can't let it off as a perfect interpretation of the comic book. if this movie was made without being based on the comic book, it would get a perfect 10.

 

however, due to the fact that it's a incredible movie, but it doesnt fully follow the storyline provided for it, i will give it a 9.5 out of 10!

i think one of the worst things you can see is a classic tv show be resurrected into a movie, then watch the movie fall just beneath the bar that's been set. and it happened with get smart. the show was HILARIOUS. the movie, just decent.

 

it's supposed to be a comedy, and this movie does have some very funny moments. it's just the humor is more along the lines of subtle humor. it's not what's said, it's HOW it's said. it's still funny, but it still lacks.

 

this is going to be my shortest review yet, because really everything else about this movie is great. great story, great stunts, great acting, however, it's a COMEDY, meaning we should be laughing more than the occasional chuckle.

 

still good, but it missed it by that much.

Hulk smash! Hulk is good movie? yes, yes, hulk good movie!

 

surprisingly, this hulk movie actually lived up to its name. the last movie mainly just sucked but i was very nicely surprised as to how this movie turned out.

you begin following wayne banner after the "incident" has occured. it doesnt exactly touch on what the "incident" was, so i'll brush up on it for you all now.

 

wayne banner was working on a project, he wanted to stop harmful gamma radiation from hurting humans. he was so sure of a supposed cure he thought he found that he tested on himself, and it didnt go well. now, anytime his pulse goes up or he gets angry, he turns into everybody's favorite, big, green, and muscular friend. the Hulk.

 

now, when the movie begins, wayne banner is on the run from the government. the story branches off from there, but i'm not going to spoil it. i'm going to get my major complaint from the movie out of the way right now. if you don't know the hulk series at all, your not going to get any of the inside jokes from the tv show, or comic books for that matter, and the story may be a little hard to understand. if you HAVE seen the last hulk movie, just know that this movie basically pretends that that movie never happened.

 

now, onto the good things. this movie has PHENOMINAL acting, every character is represented so well by there actor and actress counterpart, they are portrayed vividly and it's just such a relief to know that good acting isint dead yet. also, the computer generated animation these days in movies has to look incredible to make a movie good. this C.G. is incredible and it lives up to past super hero movies before it quite well! you never feel like your watching a imaginary character, hulk looks and behaves realisticly. (spelling?) well, as realistic as a big green super human can look. i think this is one of the few super hero movies that lives up to the hype, it didnt exceed the hype, but it lived up to it, and that is very commendable by these days standards.

 

The Incredible Hulk gets a 9 out of 10!

so, narnia. a loved book series, made into a movie series. they skipped "the chronicles of narnia, a horse and his boy" for some unknown reason. u know what? who cares, the next narnia is finally here! and it's a darker take on the series.

 

i can guarantee you that anyone that's a fan of narnia will want to see this movie, and theres no getting past that. but let me be honest. this movie was ok. just ok, i give it nothing more than ok. don't get me wrong, great effects, great action scenes, but action scenes arent what make a movie. it's the quality, the acting, and how it's executed. i'll be honest, i loved this movie, but that was because i was looking at it from all the action angles. and if i rated this movie soley off of the action, i would give it a 11 out of 10.

 

but it's when it goes past the action that it falls apart. the acting in this movie is far worse than in the last, the characters are very one dimensional. plus, unless you read the book, the story line is a little hard to follow, it requires you to fill in the blanks yourself. which would be ok, if the explanations were logical for it. but there are really no logical explanations.

 

however, this movie was filmed in absolutely BEAUTIFUL locations. it looks incredible. that makes up for a lot of the bad acting, and there are times when you don't even care about the acting because seeing all the creatures in the background is just unbelievable. speaking of the creatures, they are all done incredible, you'll see fauns, centaures, menotaurs, goblins, dwarfs, every animal imaginable, and of course, Aslan. and they are all breathtaking.

 

i honestly hope the next narnia is better than this in the acting department, but there is no denying the charm of this series. i have to say that still is not a bad movie, it's a good movie, but needs the extra kick that other movies have. mainly, good characters and even better actors. (however my rating is going up a little cause the voice actors who played the animals were great, and whoever play's Aslan is unbelievable"

yo.......YOOOOOOOOOOO...........omg this seriously has been one of the best movies i've seen probably this year. it's been a long time since i've felt this interested in a movie and this in awe at every moment. speed racer falls the story of.......speed racer, of course, as he struggles to live up to his brothers name. theres a lot more behind it and i'm not gonna spoil any of it for you. seriously though, this story gets very deep very quickly, and if you've seen the cartoons you won't be surprised in the least bit. but if you had never seen any of the cartoons, your going to be in as much awe as i was. the plot is slowly given to you as to not freak you out, but the plot twists are given to you in moderation so when you just got over the last one, something new happens that sends you into a shocked coma.

 

now lets talk about he art design for a moment. if you have seen a trailer for this movie, you know it's colorful. VERY colorful. it does take a while to get used to all the color, but alltogether the c.g. is beautiful. everything is done in cg, aboslutely every environment. however, it is incredible, and watching the races that take place just looks incredible. speaking of the races, even though some cheesy moments happen during the races, they are really unbelievable to watch. it all flows together so seemlessly, speed racer feels like a near perfect experience.

 

even the acting is good, not unbelievable, but good, and for this movie it doesnt need to be great. mainly, the acting comes from how the characters react to certain things, and although a few of the characters are far-fetched, they fill there rolls well, and it really is fun to watch them. no complaints about the acting from me.

 

one negative thing to say, speed could have been played slightly better, we just needed a little more dimension from his side. but still, the actor did a good job. altogether, one of my fav movies, i'm picking it up when it comes out on dvd.

yes, i, thee aaron, saw a chick flick. and it was a darn good one. i hadnt seen a good romantic comedy in a long time, why do genre's of movies die? no inspiration for new ideas? do people try to make a good one and it ends up being a un-inspired clone? well, this movie was funny. and i'm talking, really funny. i'm not going to spoil the story line for u guys so don't read here if your expecting that. but i am gonna tell you, if you like romantic comedy's, SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

 

let's be honest, the acting in any romantic movie usually lacks depth, and when i found out ashton kutcher was playing the main guy character, i thought this was going to be the worst acting i'd seen in a while. well, it was actually some of the better acting i've seen in a long time. not just from him, but from anyone. sometimes, some of the things that his character does just make you think "wow, that was a little over dramatic". but that is actually what immersed me in this movie. the wierdness that comes from ashton fits his character very well, which is good. after him though all the rest of the actors are just ok, theres not really anyone else that stands out, not even the lead actress. still, it's believable.

 

however, where this movie falls apart is also in the same area it has its strength. the acting for the main characters is good. but the other characters SUCK!!! there is no depth! it's just annoying almost!

 

still, i think this movie was very funny. however, see it with someone and not alone. it's only fun with a group of people that go with you. still, go see it.

well, i saw iron man yesterday. for those of you that don't know about iron man, of course it started as a comic book by marvel which quickly became a hit, then it moved to a cartoon. that cartoon was canceled very quickly, within the first 2 years of it showing. however, they decided to make a movie out of it. now, if you think about it. it's kinda hard to go wrong with a movie about a super hero that can blow the crap out of anything. right? well, wrong. this movie was on the top 10 of my most dissapointing list of my life for movies. now, don't get me wrong. this movie isint bad. in fact it's very good. i liked it, but i didnt love it, and i am a huge iron man fan, but there just could have made better choices.

 

the story of iron man follows the one of tony stark, a man who is in lead of the largest weapons production company in the world, stark industries. while making a run to afganistan to make a deal with the military about some weapons, he is taken and held hostage by terrorists. to escape, he must build his way out. the story builds on from there, but you get the picture. now, the story line in this movie is actually very good. what kills this movie is lack of depth. i mean i can speak for anyone that's seen this movie that the direction with the effects and the art style is well done, very good effects, very action packed. but i think i also speak for everyone when i say that they could have picked a much better villain for this entire story. i mean, there are much better villains from the comics that could have been used. and because the villain is so one dimensional it makes it hard to get engrossed in the story line. eventually though, you will.

 

also, one dimensional is a theme in this movie. all the characters, no matter who they are, they are VERY one dimensional, giving no other emotions than they have throughout the whole movie. now in some times this is good, tony stark, the main character is played very well. however, it's at times when he should be breaking away his character that it feels......stale. it's still believable, but it's just not tuned up. shame.

 

however i still think this is a great movie, there could have been more iron man moments rather than tony stark moments throughout the whole thing, and the villain could have been picked better....not to mention this movie has one of the WORST ENDINGS TO A MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!....it's still a decent look. now, i honestly think this is a dvd buy because then you own it, you can watch it whenever you want. i think paying a 8.50 movie ticket for one look is kinda a rip off. however buying it when it comes out on dvd with all the extra features and behind the scenes stuff, that sounds like a good deal. but even if you see it in theaters like i did, you may be dissapointed, but you also will have had a huge thrill out of seeing it.

 

bottom line, iron man. could have been executed better, not one of marvels best super hero transition to big screen. still good though, just could have been put together better. good effects, great sounds, decent storyline, decent characters and acting. just dissapointing for what it could have been.
